Meet Our Coaches

Todd Mancuso

Coach Todd has been a member of the Ice Time family since 2003.  Todd has been teaching the Learn to Skate Program and Fundimentals of Hockey since 2005 and assisted in the youth hockey program in 2005 and 2006.  He has been the youth hockey director and coach of the Mites and Squirts since 2007.  Besides Learn to Skate, Fundimentals, and the Mites and Squirts, Todd also instructs in various youth hockey clinics, camps, adult classes/clinics, and coordinates such events as holiday parties, youth hockey field trip, fall open house, and the annual Halloween Party.  Todd has alson been the Summer Recreation Camp director since 2008.

Todd, who began skating at the age of 4 and has played in various youth and adult leagues, is a member of ISI and is a USA Hockey certified coach.  Alsways concerned with the continuing development of each and every player/skater, Todd always does what he can to assure that all participants are having fun in the process.  With Todd, it is not always about hockey.  It is also about learning teamwork, sportsmanship, and respect which develops the players on the ice as well as off the ice.

Jimmy Baker

Jimmy Baker has been coaching/instructing youth hockey for the past several seasons here at Ice Time and has been skating for 20 plus years.  Jimmy had played in the Orange County High School Club Hockey league for the Unified Gypsies and then made his way to play Junior College Hockey in Canton.  A knee injury sidelined him away from Hockey for a short period, then moving on to Junior Hockey in Rochester NY, where his knee kept him from further competitive play. He then made his way to Oswego University making the team, but not getting much playing time due to injury.  In the summer of 2009, Jimmy completed certification for Hockey General Managing, Scouting and Agency through Sports Management World Wide.  Jimmy is USA Hockey certified, and is currently working on in-house scouting, and parental advising for 16+ players moving on to Junior Hockey or NCAA.  His wealth of knowledge, love of the game, and overall passion for Hockey has made him a great asset here at Ice Time.

Deirdre Bonanno

Deirdre Bonanno has been teaching figure skating for the last 14 years and has been skating for over 28 years.  She is a member of ISI, PSA, and USFS and is credentialed as a Gold Level ISI Judge, and has her Gold Medal in Moves in the Field.  Deirdre’s teaching focuses on all aspects of skating including singles, moves in the field, synchronized, and power skating.  Deirdre works with synchronized teams which have achieved the top 6 at the Eastern Synchronized Skating Sectional Championships.

Diane del Olmo

Diane del Olmo has been teaching figure skating since 1972 in the modalities of Figures, Moves in the Field, Freestyle, and Choreography beginner through senior level.  Diane has coached in Barcelona, Spain with medalists at the Juvenile, Junior and Senior levels including the national champions in these levels on different occasions.  Diane has also team coached for Spain in the Sofia, Bulgaria Junior Cup and Junior World Championships from 1979 to 1980. Her student was an alternate for the 1980 Olympics in Lake Placid.  Diane has had students that were finalists at the North Atlantic Regional Championships at the Juvenile, Intermediate, and Novice Levels. 

Oleg Makarov & Larisa Selezneva

Oleg Makarov & Larisa Selezneva are World and European Champions in pair figure skating and Bronze medalist of Olympic Games I n Sarajevo in 1984.  They are seven times National Champions of the USSR. Together they coached two Junior Nation 2005 competitors and five North Atlantic 2005 finalists.  Oleg & Larisa both graduated from St. Petersburg University of Physical Education and Sports in Russia in which is one of the prestigious and famous Universities with Olympic and World graduates in former USSR. Oleg also has the following success in the field of top ice skating achievements, teaching and coaching, Oleg continued his education and received Doctorate in Sport Psychology by  working closely with Olympic and World Champions of National Team USSR & Russia. Oleg & Larisa have a daughter Ksenia 12 years old and Aleksey 4 years old. At the present time they are residence of the Town of Newburgh.

Bianca Plantamura

Bianca Plantamura has been skating for over 8 years.  She currently competes at the Novice Level and has passed her Senior Moves.  Bianca has competed at North Atlantics, Mid-Atlantics, Empire State Games, and has been awarded numerous medals at competitions in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. Bianca is a member of the USFS and PSA.

Stephanie Plantamura

Stephanie Plantamura has more than 13 years as a skating coach for both roller-skating and ice-skating.  Stephanie has competed in numerous regional and national competitions. In the past she has held certifications in sports medicine/sports psychology and teaching techniques.  Stephanie coaches Moves in the Field and Freestyle. She is a member of USFS and the PSA.

Michele Russo

Michele Russo has been coaching Learn To Skate classes for the past seven years as well as teaching  private lessons.  Michele has been skating for fourteen years combined as a child and an adult.  During her skating career Michele took first place in the Adult Sectional Competition (Bronze– Ladies II Category), and was an Adult National Competitor in both 2000 and 2004.

Barbara VanPelt

Barbara VanPelt has taught figure skating at Ice Time for the last three years, skated recreationally as a child, and has been skating competitively for the past 10 years.   Barbara’s teaching has included Mommy & Me, Basic Skills, Summer Skating Camp, and Private Lessons and off ice stretching & conditioning. Barbara also has experience in choreography, dance, music, gymnastics, and off ice classes. She is a current member of USFS, and PSA.
